Your new organisation
The Welsh Government has an annual budget of 18 million and this shared across health, education, skills, the economy and transport, and agriculture and the environment. The decisions are made by the First Minister and 60 elected members that are accountable to the Welsh Senedd and are supported by 5,000 civil servants.
Your new role
This opportunity is a permanent hybrid role which will involve occasional travel to either the Merthyr or Cardiff offices. This purpose of this post is to lead a team of specialists to develop building control policy regulated by the Building Act 1984 and guided by the Building Regulations 2010. This role will play a key part in the government's sustainable development and climate changes initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be either a Chartered Engineer (CABE) or Chartered Building Control Surveyor (RICS) or a Chartered Construction Professional (CIOB) or registered with the RIBA. You will need experience within construction and leadership roles applying building regulations or building control policies to existing and new developments
What you'll get in return
You new role will be a hybrid opportunity primarily working remotely and will receive a salary between GBP67,100 - GBP76,990 and this comes with 31 days holiday with an additional 10 days on top for bank holidays / privilege days. You will be eligible for the civil service pension scheme along with flexible working including working patterns such as condensed weeks and use the green car scheme.
