Lewis Davey is delighted to be recruiting a Head of Consultancy for a SaaS and consultancy start-up operating in life cycle assessment (LCA) domain.

Working specifically with raw materials and downstream technology industries, they make sure that the metals and minerals required for a low-carbon society are sourced at minimum environmental cost.

With exciting plans for their consultancy offering, they are now looking to appoint an experienced LCA consultant to provide technical and people leadership for our growing consultancy team

The role

You may have a leadership role in an existing consultancy or be looking to step up to management. We are looking for somebody with a technical understanding of LCA methodologies who is also a great people person, able to motivate and manage a high-performing team and guide clients on their journey to minimal impact.

The successful candidate will report to the COO and work closely with the CEO and Client Services Director to deliver high-quality and impactful services to global clients.

What will you be doing?

You will be a technical lead on LCA projects, providing analysis and insight, and developing the team's skills.

  • Technical leadership on LCA projects. You will work with clients to understand their needs and deliver LCA models, approaches and solutions, making considered and impactful recommendations.
  • Conducting critical LCA reviews internally and externally according to the ISO standards.
  • Developing strategic services that build on the existing offering.
  • Supporting business development.
  • Line managing the consultancy team (currently 6 people with more hires planned) to ensure they are operating a high level of performance while also growing with the business and looking after their wellbeing.
  • Being a leader in the business as a whole, as a figurehead for our values and our culture, which are vital to the delivery of our vision.

What we're looking for (the essentials):

  • Experienced life cycle assessment practitioner (LCA) and familiarity with LCA tools
  • Experienced consultant in mining, metals and/or battery manufacturing is preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in a consultancy environment
  • Experience managing a team of consultants to high performance with great feedback from your team members
  • Success in developing client accounts
  • Strong project and stakeholder management
  • Client relationship management experience
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively about innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn and develop in the role
