CFO position based in Birmingham, West Midlands. Acting as trusted advisor to the board of this innovative, growing service provider.

Our client, based in Birmingham, is an innovative, ambitious service provider, with a strong track record of success in their field. An exciting new CFO opportunity has been created in order to support the demands from the business for increased strategic and commercial input from finance on their next phase of expansion.

Description

Reporting to the CEO and forming part of the senior leadership team, the role takes responsibility for the financial stewardship of the business operations, for building and developing a best-in-class finance team and adding value through identifying and implementing opportunities to generate revenue and reduce costs.

There will also be significant scope to get involved in and have an influence on wider business activity, deputising for the CEO when required.

Key duties to include:

  • Business partnering CEO and board to achieve short, mid and long term strategic goals.
  • Evaluating financial systems and processes.
  • Leading and developing the finance team.
  • Enforcing financial strategies and regulations.
  • Overseeing budgeting, reporting and forecasting.
  • Reporting to stakeholders and board members.

Profile

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a track record in finance leadership positions, including business partnering and continuous improvement.

Experience within a service or customer-facing business, ideally in agile, SME environments, is desirable.

First class communication skills at all levels of a business and a hands-on approach to the role are essential.
