You have the chance to join an established manufacturer that is committed to advancing the quality of their products. As the Quality Assurance Manager of their Staffordshire based facility, you will be given the opportunity to really impact this site and drive sustainable improvement.

Client Details

This leading manufacturer develop an array of specialist products and are looking to do so in the most effective and efficient way whist still delivering the best quality possible. As a result of growth and in the interest of further development, they are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to lead the team into the next phase of their journey. You have the chance to be instrumental in driving best practice through improving their quality management systems and operational processes.

Description

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be working closely with other departments in order to drive continuous improvement in quality with the suppliers, the manufacturing plant and working with customers on corrective action. This is a multifaceted management role, requiring you to lead a small team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, maintain and continually improve the site's Management System, ensuring full compliance with the latest ISO9001 standards
  • Be the point of contact for all customer and supplier quality issues, ensuring effective communication across business functions and quick and effective resolution
  • Understand customer product expectations/needs
  • Develop quality control processes and design product specification
  • Develop action plans to continually improvement performance in KPIs, with specific focus on customer complaints, complaint response times, repeat complaints, yield and Cost of Poor Quality
  • Ensure that all non-conformances are investigated using structured problem solving using tools such as 8D
  • Lead a continual reduction in customer complaints, the elimination of repeat complaints and a reduction in complaint response times
  • Manage quality control processes across manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement the annual internal audit plan.
  • Champion the development of the site culture, focused on continuous improvement.
  • Be a key member of the Site Management Team, playing an integral part in the development of the facility strategy and objectives.
  • Work with the regional and global quality heads in the implementation of business wide quality strategies.
  • Ensure that customer complaints/concerns are managed in such a way to reassure the customer and protect the company. Ensuring effective communication to Sales, Senior Management and other impacted departments, throughout the complaint handling process
  • Promote the awareness of customer requirements across the business
  • Supporting business growth strategies through delivering product quality improvement and ensuing effective introduction of new products
  • Development of Quality Roadmap to support the manufacturing strategy & business goals
  • Deliver operational excellence to our customers

Profile

A Quality Assurance Manager with manufacturing experience managing a team and the following:

  • Preferably a degree qualification although not essential
  • Proven track record of maintaining ISO standards in a certified business (e.g. 9001)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Proven change management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
