HONG KONG INVESTMENT CORPORATION LIMITED

The Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited (HKIC) is wholly owned by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.  The HKIC consolidates the management of the investment activities of the “Hong Kong Growth Portfolio”, “Greater Bay Area Investment Fund”, “Strategic Tech Fund”, and the newly established “Co-Investment Fund”.  The objectives of the HKIC are to identify investment opportunities and strategically promote development of target industries, so as to enhance the long-term competitiveness and economic vitality of Hong Kong while generating investment return.  In this regard, it pools together relevant resources under the steer of the Government to attract and support foreign and local enterprises to further develop Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to a Board chaired by the Financial Secretary (“the Board”), the Chief Executive Officer has the overall executive responsibility for leading the HKIC in

• identifying and making investment in companies and projects that can promote economic development and raise competitiveness of Hong Kong in the long run, and strengthen Hong Kong’s ability to attract enterprises;
• managing the portfolio of companies and projects post-investment and monitoring portfolio performance;
• developing investment and operational processes of the HKIC with the highest level of integrity and a sound risk management framework; and
• working closely with the Government, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and other partners including the Board’s various Committees in pursuing objectives of the corporation.

Requirements:

• uphold the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”) of the People’s Republic of China and bear allegiance to the HKSAR;
• have passion and long-term vision to invest for Hong Kong;
• have a demonstrated track record of success in a senior leadership role in a reputable organisation, including but not limited to a financial institution, industry conglomerate, law or consulting firm, regulatory authority, etc.;
• have uphold the highest standards of integrity and professional ethics;
• have sound understanding of and experience in private equity markets;
• possess at least 15 years of relevant experience; and
• have strong conceptual, analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, and excellent language proficiency.
