Job description

Project Engineer (21502)

With us you will: 

  • manage several building-related mechanical and electrical projects, from feasibility study to EPO operational services handover
  • manage several external engineering groups to ensure proper planning and design processes
  • ensure a proper transition from building projects to daily operations
  • run and continuously develop an EPO-wide documentation management system for our buildings
  • ensure technical compliance of EPO building documentation with applicable regulations and best practices by monitoring technology and making proposals where appropriate
  • manage relationships with internal stakeholders, experts and local authorities
  • develop projects while applying the latest market standards in engineering and design
  • perform quality checks, control costs and timelines, and validate incoming project-related invoices
  • collaborate across EPO services to ensure delivery of high-level projects, and contribute to reaching the CO2 neutrality target by 2030 

Apply if you have:

  • relevant experience in a building-related engineering and project management function
  • a building management qualification
  • relevant experience in building-related project management
  • in-depth understanding of the technical infrastructure and equipment of large office buildings
  • in-depth understanding of the technical documentation of large office buildings
  • an understanding of contractual agreements and the respective legal consequences relevant for building administration experience in monitoring and steering external supplier performance
  • good analytical and communication skills
  • knowledge of Revit and building management systems
  • a "can-do" attitude and eagerness to continuously learn about new building management developments
  • the ability to evaluate vendor offers in a structured manner

Our minimum requirements for this post

  • Diploma of completed studies at master's level or – in exceptional cases – equivalent professional experience
  • Generally, an excellent knowledge (at least C1) of one official language (English, French and German) and ability to understand the other two; alternatively, excellent knowledge (at least C1) of at least one official language (in such cases, the willingness to learn the missing language(s) and to reach level B2 within a set time frame would be required)
  • Citizenship of one of the member states of the European Patent Organisation

Process

The successful candidate will be selected on the basis of qualifications, competencies, professional experience and language knowledge, supplemented as appropriate by interviews, tests and/or a personality questionnaire.

A reserve list may be constituted, should more candidates than required at this time be considered suitable following the selection procedure. Such reserve lists are valid for 18 months and reserve list candidates may be contacted, should a vacancy with substantially the same profile arise during that period.
