Our client is a private equity-backed MSP, providing solution design, consulting, network, cloud and connectivity solutions to its customer base. Our client was established fifteen years ago and since then, it has built an enviable reputation for building, delivering and monitoring first class enterprise solutions. Currently the business employs circa 60 people and is looking to double revenues and EBITDA towards £30m revs. It has also built enviable partnerships with global OEMs such as Cisco, IBM and Dell. As part of a succession planning, the company is now searching for a commercially-led CEO who will lead the business through the next stage of its growth and ultimately to an exit for the current PE investor in 3-4 years. All candidates must have been a CEO or Managing Director previously.
Providing the leadership required to drive the business forward - highly visible with people, customers and suppliers.
Reviewing & revitalising the go-to-market strategy, developing the sales & marketing teams to deliver significantly enhanced performance.
Working closely with the Founder on the technical direction of the business and developing proposals for recommendation to the Board.
Develop annual plans, consistent with the agreed strategies, for endorsement by the Board.
Develop and oversees the organisational structure, processes and systems to ensure the efficient operation of the business
Ensures delivery of effective communication with customers, investors, shareholders and other stakeholders.
Develops and maintains an effective framework of internal controls over risk in relation to all business activities
Is accountable to the Board for the performance of the business and its consistency with agreed strategies and plans
Is accountable to the Board for the flow of to it of complete, accurate, reliable, timely and clear information
Establishes and maintains a close relationship of trust with the Chairman, reporting key developments to him in a timely manner and seeking his advice and support as appropriate.
Knowledge & Experience
- Previously been MD or CEO of an MSP – whether Unified Communications, Connectivity, Networking, or Cloud services
- A proven record of success / growth in senior level general or commercial management.
Demonstrable experience as a Chief Executive, Managing Director or autonomous Country Manager
- Proven sales leadership skills in a high growth environment.
At least 10 years’ senior level experience of management of people and resources.
A successful track record of working in partnership with Private Equity is preferable.
Graduate level preferably with a higher degree in a management discipline or a professional qualification.
An understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques.
A very high level of commercial awareness.
Proven organisational and communication skills.
High levels of analytical and problem-solving.
Commercial Acumen: the role requires strength and depth in sales & marketing
Leadership: the role requires the executive to lead and motivate staff as well as represent the company with customers and suppliers.
High EQ: the executive will need to build relationships with a variety of people, from shareholders, investors, banks, suppliers, customers and staff.
Financial Acumen: the executive will have to set operate and monitors the achievement of the budget and, take whatever action is required to meet the financial objectives.
