A leading Quick Service Restaurant business with operations in African countries is searching for an Executive leader to manage its Pizza Brand through the development of the operational strategy to drive growth, brand position, operational standards, and profitability, throughout all it operating Markets.

The incumbent will set the direction and leadership of the brand, build and implement effective business best practices and maintain internal controls to increase operational effectiveness through empowerment, customer satisfaction and business efficiency through leadership and strategic business planning.


Key Responsibilities

• Participates and contributes to the strategic planning for the relevant Brand for all operating markets.

• Develops and agrees the Brand implementation plans in liaison with operating markets and ensuring that clear strategic short to medium-term goals and objectives are cascaded throughout the brand.

• Ensures that the Brand achieves targeted profitability in all the markets on schedule and with sustainable practices.

• Analyses and projects profit and revenue requirements to build the Brand’s plans in line with long-term strategy.

• Establishes and clearly defines expectations, business targets and growth strategies for the Brand in the operating markets.

• Monitors Key Performance objectives for the Brand with Market Managers and institutes remedial action.

• Manages brand operational evaluations and deviation execution results for operating markets and institutes remedial action.

• Ensures the highest levels of brand compliance by ensuring evaluations are conducted regularly and uniformly across all markets.

• Recommends new sites location in liaison with Market Management for approval.

• Assumes responsibility of the Brand Matrix, ensuring maximum profitability of the brand.

• Liaises with the Market Management, in projecting and controlling the overall cash flow of the Brand through the timely collection of debtors and payment of creditors.

• Analyses monthly financial results, identifies key problems and agrees with the relevant action with the Market Management.

• Liaises with the Group Finance Director and Market Management in setting the annual strategy, budget assumptions and parameters to facilitate the preparation of the annual budget for the Brand.

• Sets, with the Group Finance Director, the annual growth and profitability targets and defines key assumptions for budget preparation.

• Liaises with the New Product Development team in new product development from concept to product launch.

• Coordinates with relevant departments to employ strategic approaches to menu engineering, planning, and execution.

• Collaborate with major vendors and suppliers to ensure all operations meet quality and safety standards.

• Liaises with Market Management and Procurement Teams to create a supply chain strategy that improves efficiencies and reduces costs.

• Plays a critical role in the negotiation of raw material pricing and securing set volumes of the required key raw materials.

• Monitors the quality of key raw materials in all markets and implements any corrective action necessary.

• Gathers and reviews brand market intelligence through direct reports and through social and business networking.

• Liaises with the Marketing Teams with regards to area/market-specific advertising to ensure a strategic approach to maintaining a competitive advantage.

• Provides oversight on promotions and value-added campaigns safeguarding brand integrity.

• Confirms that all due diligence is done regarding any and all menu item increases, this includes but is not limited to Matrices, competitor reviews, Raw materials analysis.

• Periodically reviews the menus and sanctions any related updates or changes to products, promotions, layouts, or designs.


Qualification, Skills and Competencies

• Be a holder of an appropriate Business Degree.

• MBA or equivalent post graduate qualification is advantageous.

• Minimum of 10 years proven working experience at senior management level in a Pizza brand.

• Good knowledge and experience of Pizza Brand management, including but not limited to sales, business development, product development, menu engineering and marketing across multiple African markets.

• Possess thorough knowledge of the Africa Pizza QSR industry across multiple African markets.

• Strong analytical, interpretive skills, and coaching skills.

• Strong personality with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills across different management levels.

• Able to lead by example and foster professionalism in the team through consistent and effective coaching, demonstrates strong training and facilitation skills.

• Quick to analyze and act without compromising quality, utilizes effective negotiation skills whilst challenging the status quo.

• Ability to constantly self-challenge and challenge others in a constructive way.

• Shows integrity, tenacity, resilience, and adaptability in complex situations and an often-changing environment; can handle pressure and commit to and respect deadlines.

• Ability to implement and live the Company values.

• Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

• Must have the ability to communicate at across different management levels.

• Strong level of urgency and results orientated.

• Good presentation skills are a requirement.

• A good understanding of financial management

• Strong leadership Skills.
