Our client is a global manufacturer operating across over 60 facilities and producing multiple products across a range of sectors. With over 200 years of experience in its field this organisation is continuing pushing boundaries and why this role is so important in changing the way they manufacturer products globally.

Description

The Group Engineering Manager focusing on Environmental and Sustainability will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable engineering strategies across the company's global operations. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to reduce the environmental footprint and drive continuous improvement in all possible practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainable engineering strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
  • Lead the alignment and integration of the environmental roadmap at global and site level collaborating with other leads
  • Develop environmental engineering and resource planning alongside the global engineering function
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain, to identify opportunities for improvements
  • Collaborate with the Global Environmental Data Analyst to support the integration and data analysis of tools to provide further engineering performance insights
  • Lead the design and implementation of innovative environmental engineering solutions
  • Manage sustainability-related capital projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies, to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on sustainability initiatives and progress towards sustainability goals

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical or related field
  • Experience in working in a matrix style organsiation is key
  • Operated in role that has multiple sites essential, across multiple countries would be preferred
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex environmentally-related projects on time and within budget - e.g solar panel, heat pumps, wind turbines etc
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for sustainability improvements and develop innovative solutions
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and standards, including ISO 14001 would be advantageous
