Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Head of Service to work within East Sussex Councils Mental Health Service.

Job Purpose

The post holder will be responsible for a budget of around £5.7m, with three direct reports and overall responsibility for the MH service itself which comprises 150 staff including Social Workers, Resource Officers and Administrators.

We are looking for someone with extensive experience of working within mental health services, be that in the independent sector or ideally within local government. They will also need good knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity, DOLS/BIA, Safeguarding and the Mental Health Act. If they also have experience of attending Inquests, this would also be desirable. This role requires someone who has good social care values, excellent leadership skills, good partnership working experience, a resilience of working in a high pressured environment and is ready to take on the challenge of working with current managers and staff to ensure that the care and support we are providing is of an excellent quality.
