Company Secretary & Head of Corporate Affairs - Interim - (Band 9)
£540 per day (Inside IR35)

Peterborough, Cambridgeshire (commutable from Cambridge, Northampton, St Ives, Milton Keynes)
Immediate Start
My Client are an NHS Trust based in Peterborough and are seeking a Company Secretary on an ongoing 12 week contract with an option of extension.
The role will be based at Peterborough City Hospital, with some travel to Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Stamford Hospital as required.
Role is mostly on site with limited agile working (no more than 1 day a week WFH).
Job Summary
The role of the Company Secretary & Head of Corporate Affairs is a pivotal one within the Trust. The post holder is a member of the Executive team and acts as the principal advisor to the Chair, Chief Executive, Board of Directors, Council of Governors and the organisation as a whole on all aspects of governance, legal and corporate affairs; ensuring the Trust operates in line with best practice practices.
The post holder is responsible for interpreting guidance and advising Board and Council of Governors members on appropriate action and conduct. They will ensure that the Trust operates in accordance with statutory and legal provisions and in keeping with expectations of high performing organisations, operating to the highest standards with openness, transparency and commitment to a culture of continuous learning. The postholder will ensure effective relationships are maintained with key regulators and local government oversight committees.
Increasingly the post holder will provide advice and guidance on governance across integrated care partnerships and maintaining systems of control in complex or novel structures and help to shape the evolving governance structures for the integrated care system for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
Experience
Work in corporate governance in public, private, voluntary of charitable sector
Work in corporate governance within an acute hospital setting
Team and matrix management
Demonstrable experience of ability to operate at Board levelKnowledge

Risk Management and Board Assurance Framework requirementsQualification
Essential
Educated to Master's Degree Level or equivalent
At least Student Membership of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators - demonstrating work towards full qualificationDesirable
Chartered Status as a Full Qualifying Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators
Good knowledge of NHS regulatory frameworks, safety, financial procedures and statutory regulations
