Harvey Nash is pleased to be working with our Public Sector client to recruit a Finance Manager on an initial 6 month contract basis at a daily rate of GBP300. this is a key role in providing value through the provision of appropriate financial data and information to support strategic decision making and to monitor and evaluate outcomes against plans at a time of significant change within the department.

Main Duties:

  • Working in conjunction with Operations colleagues, you will plan, monitor, control and report on the budget (including arrangements for in year budget transfers).
  • You will have oversight to ensure that the budgets allocated are administered appropriately and in line with financial management systems and ensure processes, including appropriate levels of delegated authority are maintained.
  • You will co-ordinate and liaise with managers to ensure that joint engagement forums with Operations colleagues harvest relevant and credible data sources which can be utilised inform budget and performance planning and reporting mechanisms.
  • You will be responsible for reviewing actual spend on a monthly basis and with business partner support, reviewing any accruals and adjustments required.
  • Liaising with your business partner, you will be responsible for the financial reporting to the Operational Management Team, including the financial information contained within the Balanced Scorecard and the short and longer term financial projections relating to the Corporate Plan.
  • You will contribute towards, and review, the financial information for the annual accounts and the annual reports with the business partner.
  • You will provide leadership, management, coaching and direction to the Finance team
  • You will lead improvement work, implementing changes to practices and procedures using relevant tools and techniques, confidently conveying clear messages to your team about the benefits of change for them and for the improvement of the service they provide to our users and stakeholders.

Please note this opportunity has been determined as Inside IR35 and as such will require the working through an umbrella company. Harvey Nash has a preferred supplier list which can be obtained upon request.

Please note BPSS clearance will be required upon commencement alongside a Standard Disclosure Scotland certificate.
