Job Details
As the Senior Network Engineer you will be responsible for project delivery relating to core network systems. Also to act as a technical point of escalation for internal support teams relating to priority incidents and problems requiring root cause analysis.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as Technical Lead for both Group IT and Business related network based projects dealing with a wide range of technologies.
- Work with the project team to develop low level planning documents for the successful delivery of change, based on approved designs along with the fulfilment of network projects and service requests within agreed timelines.
- Become a technical expert for network systems and technologies
- Contribute to the ongoing development of existing and creation of new systems and process documentation working to agreed structures
- Actively work to recognise and mitigate risk for both existing and new technologies for the department
- Work to ensure the Group IT Network function is working effectively to maximise system availability, stability and performance
- Provide technical leadership where required in dealing with BAU escalated incidents and problems to establish root cause, issue workarounds and resolutions using Change Control where appropriate
- Carry out monitoring and environment planning activities for existing platforms
Profile
Key Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a fast moving IT department at a senior technical level.
- Must have worked in a similar capacity within a multi-site medium to large scale enterprise
- A deep and demonstrable understanding of Networking in an large scale industrial environment
- Experience of design and implementation of complex network technical solutions of LAN, WAN and Datacentre including IP multicast.
- NGFW Firewalls (including configuration of FW rules/translation/IPsec tunnels/VPN clients/web-filtering features)
- Experience delivering projects to deadlines and managing third party involvement efficiently
- Basic understanding of ITIL principles and how they benefit the smooth running of IT operations
