In-house Employment Tax Manager - Working for a 250k employee headcount consulting business and reporting to the Head of Employment and Partner's Tax,
Client Details
My Client is a global consulting business with over 15,000 UK based employees and 250,000 globally. They are a Partnership and grew by 5% in 2021 with strong performance forecast for 2022.
Description
Reporting to the Head of Employment and Partner's Tax, the individual will be required to demonstrate exceptional tax compliance skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. The work is by nature high profile and the ability to treat matters with the utmost confidentiality will be key. The work will involve working closely with other tax professionals, to deliver an efficient employment tax compliance service.
Roles and responsibilities
The scope of the role includes:
* Management and review of the firm's PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA).
* Review of P11Ds prior to their submission to HMRC.
* Review of termination payments on ongoing basis and preparation of annual reports for submission to HMRC. * Support in respect of compliance with the new IR35 legislation effective from 6 April 2021.
* UK Employment tax advisory to the business.
* Review of payroll compliance.
* Providing clear guidance to business, HR, Reward and other teams and following up.
* Dealing with ad hoc tax compliance projects as and when required.
* Training tax analysts and Assistant Managers and reviewing their work

Skills & Qualifications
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills:
* CTA or ACA * Minimum of 5 years experience in dealing with UK Employment taxes with a strong background in employment status.
* Provides persuasive and self-assured responses in a credible manner.
* Applies sound judgement when faced with challenging decisions
* Demonstrates perseverance and tenacity in the face of set backs
* Excellent project management skills
* Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work and guides others around best work practice
* Sustains a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work
* Provides compelling and well thought out solutions to complex problems.
