Who we are
DCF was founded in 2016 and helps screen and stage directors with financial assistance to relieve hardship and access to mental health and well-being support. DCF also runs outreach programmes to inspire young people to acquire director and story-telling skills.

The role
Our Board of Trustees meets eight times a year. Our meetings are now in-person and online, enabling Trustees who live outside London and/or prefer to WFH to attend. Our Trustees help to run our main programmes – providing financial support to screen and stage directors who are suffering hardship, offering access to mental health support, and running our outreach programme “Get Directing” for young people, especially those from backgrounds that are under-represented in the creative industries.

We are a small charity, so Trustees are encouraged to play an active part in our programmes if their other work and personal commitments permit. Most of our Trustees are or have been working directors, but in this particular role we are looking for someone with a financial background as well as an association with the creative industries.

Our charity launched in 2016 and we are at a point where we are embarking on a major fundraising programme to enable us to expand our current programmes and support more directors and young people.

Our Trustees are a friendly and dynamic group, proud of our success so far and keen to develop further.
