Who we are

SMASH is Swindon’s leading youth mentoring charity, creating connections that change lives. We’re a small team of professional mentors working to provide safe spaces and practical support for young people. We’ve been supporting young people to make life-changing connections for more than 20 years, and we’ll keep doing so until every young person has what they need to flourish.

The role

​We are currently looking for people who can help shape our strategy as we work to ensure young people get the support they need, when they need it.

You’ll be starting with us at an exciting time as we review our latest strategy and start to piece together ideas for how we’ll deliver our vision of a world where every young person’s struggles with their health, wellbeing and potential are rare, brief and non-recurring.

As a trustee, you’ll have the opportunity to:

· Contribute actively to the board by giving firm strategic direction, setting overall policy, defining goals, and evaluating performance against agreed targets.

· Represent the organization

· Ensure the financial stability of the organization and proper investment of our funds

· Ensure the board and organization have equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of all decision making.

We’re looking for people from any walk of life who can:

• Think strategically
• Challenge constructively
• Be creative
• Work well in a team
• Listen and question

We are open to applications from people of any background, but expertise in one or more of the following areas would be particularly useful to us at this time:

· HR

· Governance/Education

· Child + Adolescent development

· Fundraising
