Through a network of UK hubs, my client provides emergency support to people living in poverty. With the ever-growing cost of living crisis, their services have never been more essential to more people.

Seeking to meet this increasing demand, the charity has diversified its revenue streams through a range of initiatives and has seen its income grow by 500% over the last 5 years.

This has put a lot of extra work on the finance function and as such they are seeking an interim Head of Finance to help support with the scale up project.

Key responsibilities:
  • Build a highly effective, motivated finance team (c.15) through leadership and coaching, creating a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
  • Responsible for ensuring a robust financial control environment exists in the organisation
  • To provide strategic oversight for the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasting process to support the 5-year financial and strategic plans.
  • Embedding a culture of commercial finance business partnering within the organisation, ensuring finance has a voice in all business decisions
  • Lead on a number of historic but key technical VAT and governance issues to ensure resolution with audit partners.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant, with a strong track record of working within the charity sector. Excited by the growth journey of the charity, you will be comfortable with change and eager to add value to their journey by building robust financial controls and coaching individuals. With proven technical charity SORP, you will also be able to deliver on their finance business partnering ambitions.
