About Our Client

The trust is a not for profit independent charity and the lead provider of culture, heritage, leisure and sport in Cheltenham. Managing five iconic venues at the heart of Cheltenham including the Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham Town Hall, Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham and the Prince of Wales Stadium.

The Trust also manages two outdoor cafes; the Heritage Cafe at the Pittville Pump Room and Garden Bar at Imperial Gardens. The trust delivers a blend of, free and paid for year round events and activities that attracts millions of visitors to these major destinations.

Job Description

  • Lead and deliver the Trust's commercial and finance business strategy and its business growth, identifying the key principal opportunities, efficiencies and risks.
  • Deliver a strong commercial and financial framework which achieves the right blend of commercial, community and culture to achieve sustainability, profitable growth.
  • Advise the CEO, senior leadership team and trustees of the trust's commercial, financial performance and new opportunities for business growth and development.
  • Lead and deliver major changes and business transformation project.
  • Set the direction for supplier management and procurement across the Trust to drive efficiencies and opportunities.
  • Take a lead in assuring robust financial, risk and governance processes are in place that meet our statutory, charity, contractual, supplier and service requirements.
  • Coordinate direct reports to develop their performance and that of their teams, assisting them to achieve their objectives in a timely and effective manner

The Successful Applicant

  • Professional accountancy qualification equivalent to ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIPFA - or with evidence of experience to a similar level.
  • Demonstrable experience (c. 5years) of leading and developing commercial and finance functions at a senior level in a commercial organisation
  • Proven experience of driving successful business growth in current and previous organisations, in challenging circumstances.
  • Senior (Executive Team or Board level) leadership and achievement in a similar sized or larger not-for-profit or commercial organisation.
  • People management skills, leading multiple teams.
  • Experience of commercial leisure, hospitality and culture sectors would be helpful.
