Head of Systems Engineering - ISP - OSS - BSS - Networking

My client are a rapidly expanding service provider / ISP who are looking to recruit a Head of Systems Engineering to lead the transformation of their technology stack to unlock the next phase of rapid, scalable growth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to shape the future of our company and the systems architecture.

This role comes with a business-wide scope for systems: essential in ensuring that our systems form an interoperable, coherent business platform. This includes everything from the online customer ordering journey through to network provisioning, service orchestration, billing, finance, and inventory. This is a critical leadership role in the company and you will be responsible for shaping and delivering our technology strategy, performance and standards.

You must have a strong background in building and leading high-performing agile teams and will have previously held responsibility for system availability, budgeting and personnel. You must be passionate and experienced in driving continuous improvements across multiple delivery teams.

Duties include provide strategic thinking and leadership on a wide range of application types, architectures, or software-development methodologies. Develop and deliver a strategic technology roadmap,Structure a high-performing team to design, plan, and deliver key engineering projects. Lead complex enterprise-wide initiatives across multiple services/programs that align with Swish's business objectives. Benchmark & drive engineering productivity, quality, and technology policy compliance in the areas of ownership. Provide relevant and timely updates to executive leadership / stakeholders on status of high visibility initiatives. Drive systems adoption across the business by facilitating and encouraging effective stakeholder engagement and change management

Hugely beneficial to come from a telecoms/ISP environment where you have proven experience of extensive experience managing technology teams, with a strong bias towards in-house solution development, experience delivering complex enterprise systems migration projects, either in-house or as a contractor, variety of experience with multi-vendor solutions, mixed-vendor environments and ability to assess "best in class" solutions, experience in vendor selection and tendering process, for hardware, software and consulting services, Solid foundation in software design principles, ability (and desire) to be hands-on when necessary, deep understanding of multiple networking processes.
