Michael Page Logistics are recruiting a General Manager for our client in the Slough area.

Client Details

Our client is an industry leader in their sector and a household name. This is a key site in the network and is vital to the ongoing success of the operation.

Description

In the role of General Manager you will hold the following key responsibilities:

  • Managing and understanding of business unit P&L to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Owner of Site Aviation Security Programme and holder of Aviation Security Manager Status.
  • Ensuring compliance with DfT/CAA requirements and achieve positive audit results both internally and externally e.g. ISO / FORS and DVSA regulation.
  • Ensuring operational KPIs are met e.g. on-time delivery, packing accuracy.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with customers and 3rd party suppliers
  • Identifying the development needs of direct reports and their staff, acting as coach to the team.
  • Identifying potential in the team and ensuring relevant development plans are in place in line with the Talent Management Strategy.

Profile

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Strong experience and background managing a large FMCG/Logistics warehouse environment including team management and budget performance.
  • CPC Operators Licence qualification holder
  • Knowledge of airport airside standards.
  • Experience of meeting, exceeding and setting challenging objectives/KPIs to drive operational performance.
  • Strong experience managing change and driving continuous improvement.
  • People focused, with full employee lifecycle management experience.
  • Ability to spot and develop potential within the team and encourage team members to develop and progress within their roles.
  • Proven experience of managing change and initiating improvements.
