The FCA has core objectives to protect consumers, protect and enhance the market integrity of the UK financial system and promote competition. The FCA is currently on an exciting journey as it drives forward significant organisational, people, process, and technology transformation to become a more forward-thinking, proactive, data led regulator.

The Role

Risk & Compliance Oversight (R&CO) is the FCA’s second line of defence. This Division works in partnership with Senior Management, members of the Board and colleagues across the organisation to mitigate the internal and external risks to the FCA’s strategy and business plan and, hence, its statutory and operational objectives.

They will be responsible for championing risk at the most senior levels across the whole of the FCA and more widely. The Director of Risk Advisory & Framework will:

  • Design, implement and maintain the organisation’s risk management framework.
  • Provide clear, accurate, holistic risk and compliance-based advice, guidance, and oversight to the organisation, including attendance at relevant committees and other forums.
  • Maintain an appropriate compliance monitoring function and provision of the organisation’s control room

The Individual:

  •  The ability to lead a risk function through a significant transformation and change
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills in addition to technical risk proficiency across all risk disciplines
  • Judgement, impact, influencing capability and the credibility to gain the respect and trust of experienced leaders across the FCA.
