Job Description
- Prepare and present the annual budget, forecasts, and any subsequent revisions
- Assess opportunities and risks to forecast
- Provide financial guidance for commercial issues surrounding new and existing commercial proposals (for example assessment of customer profitability, capex, etc).
- Involvement in the CAPEX and Contract Review
- Responsible for all financial reporting for the legal entity.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in line with Division and group reporting
- Develop tools and reports to ensure adherence to reporting
- Develop procedures to ensure consistent, supportable, and auditable
- Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly processed and appropriately reflected in the General Ledger
- Analysis and understanding of key manufacturing variances
- Responsibility for control of UK treasury activities including Banking and cash control. Ensure proper access to cash/credit facilities. Construct the monthly, quarterly cash forecasts to meet business's liquidity
- Ensure compliance to all UK taxation and export control regulations
- UK statutory accounts completion and external audit
The Successful Applicant
We are looking for fully qualified ACA/ACCA or CIMA Accountant with previous strong financial control, process improvement and control framework exposure. The role would suit an experienced Finance Director or a strong and capable Financial Controller looking to step up into a number one role (in which case you must be able to demonstrate the relevant experience and gravitas to move to the next level). The role will require an influential character who will add value to the business.
You will be comfortable influencing at Board level with a minimum of 10 years related experience. The right candidate will be a strong team-player, self-motivated with the ability to quickly contribute to the culture, working with individuals at all levels. A team approach is key and a collaborative nature will be imperative to drive this company growth and deliver effective business partnering. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential. You will have the desire to manage and develop a high performing team.
A background in the manufacturing sector is highly desirable as are strong IT and reporting system skills including ERP exposure. You will have good understanding of standard costing as well as a continuous improvement mindset. You will think analytically and take a proactive approach to finding effective solutions. Above all you will be happy in a "hands on" role and diving into the detail as required.
