At WaterAid, we are focussed on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 - to get clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to everyone, everywhere.

WaterAid has a strong track record of life-saving programmatic interventions around the world, which gives us a base of credibility to influence governments, private sector, investors, multi-laterals and other INGOs to partner together to achieve systemic change.

By 2032, our ambition is to see 400 million more people with sustainable and safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); and $15 billion more a year mobilised for WASH in low- and middle-income countries. 

We are now seeking to appoint 4 new trustees to support our mission:

• Treasurer: An experienced CFO and board member able to advise our financial strategy and maintain our standards of stewardship and wise investment of resources.
• Influence: A leader with sharp geo-political understanding of Africa or Asia, able to advise on system-strengthening initiatives and cross-sector partnerships.
• Public affairs and communications: A leader with an understanding of how the UK public, corporates and government access and interact with information, able to help our team best engage more people and resources in the SDG 6 mission.
• WaterAid is also open to candidates who may not fulfil the precise experience profiles described above but have a passion to serve WaterAid, particularly if they bring experience from an Africa or Asia context.

Unless there is a monumental shift in ambition and approach, the global promise made in the Sustainable Development Goals for everyone, everywhere to have access to safe and lasting water and sanitation and basic hygiene by 2030 will not be fulfilled for many decades to come.

That is why, with our new Global Strategy, we will transform our ambitions, partnerships and approaches to help bring an end to the water, sanitation and hygiene crisis, forever. For everyone.
