Being confident about managing your own money might not sound unusual. But for many young people, it’s a real challenge, and one which holds potentially serious consequences. When you’re not money-confident, it’s easier to fall into debt, be scammed, make uninformed decisions and establish bad money habits. MyBnk is here to help young people not just survive, but thrive. We’re determined to support the creation of a financially capable generation, which knows where to go for money advice, and who to trust. It’s so much more than just good personal admin – it’s a building block of social mobility.

We work with young people between the ages of 5 and 25, with a particular focus on those who can’t afford for things to go wrong. Our award-winning programmes are highly effective and well-regarded, and since 2007 we’ve equipped around 300,000 young people with skills, knowledge and confidence around money management. But we know that’s not enough. Today’s young people face a far less predictable job market, with high rents, economic uncertainty, and an increasingly complex financial marketplace. Where money guidance and education is available, it’s too often irrelevant, ineffective, or linked to selling financial products.

So we want to extend our reach and impact by an order of magnitude in the next few years, and we have a robust strategy in place. MyBnk’s Vision 2026 will see us doubling in size and growing in our core areas of focus – young people most in need, the very young, and all those becoming independent. We’re expanding from hubs in London, the South, North-West, central Scotland and the Midlands, with an online and social media offer that will attract young people directly to us.

We are looking for a Chief Executive who can deliver our inspiring vision of supporting a financially capable generation, and who can lead our skilled teams to the very highest levels of performance and impact. Personally committed to our ambitious objectives, and with a nuanced understanding of how to lead a capacity-building community-focused charity, you’ll bring a repertoire that includes strategic planning, education and accreditation, marketing and fundraising, public affairs and governance. We have a strong and positive culture of continually challenging and improving what we do, and you’ll exemplify this optimistic mindset across the whole organisation.

MyBnk is dedicated to building an inclusive culture and working environment that promotes a sense of safety and belonging for our staff to feel supported to achieve their potential. We’re striving to be an actively anti-racist organisation, and actively encourage applications from diverse, under-represented and racialised groups, including those with lived experience of the social cause we seek to address.
