The school is seeking an outstanding Director of Finance to play a key role in the strategic development of the school. Reporting to the Bursar and working closely with the Headmaster and a progressive new senior leadership team, the Director will be responsible for strategic financial planning and operational financial management across the school.
The successful candidate will be a strong strategic and analytical thinker with substantial financial acumen and leadership experience, able to move easily between strategic and operational levels and articulate financial insights effectively to frame decision-making. S/he will have both the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to lead and inspire an eight-strong Finance team, engage effectively with senior managers and governors, and work in partnership with the Bursar to ensure the school is optimally positioned to continue investing in its staff, campus and educational provision for the future.
Experience within the charity or education sector is not essential but the successful candidate will have an empathy for the context and be able to apply their skills and experience effectively to lead a sizeable finance function within a leading independent school.
This is a full-time, all-year role based primarily on campus with some flexibility to work from home in line with the school’s flexible working policy. The school offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including generous fee remission for eligible children.
