Based: Warrington, Cheshire

ATA Search is working on a retained basis for a UK engineering and manufacturing business supplying process engineering systems. They offer market-leading equipment to sectors such as Marine, Water, Energy, Food, Beverage, O&G, Renewables and many more. This multi-million-pound manufacturing business has gone from strength to strength and this fantastic achievement is down to the fact that their employees are at the forefront of their decision-making process.

Aside from this, they supply industry-leading and cutting-edge process systems and have forged key partnerships with their customers ensuring they maintain a number one supplier status.

Currently, they are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Director (project delivery) or Project Director who will spearhead all project delivery functions such as engineering, commissioning, customer management and site-based activities.

The successful Operations Director will be given the autonomy and control to drive operational improvement and deploy strategic plans to advance the overall company. Alongside this, you will play a hands-on role with the project delivery team by providing effective, efficient, and strong leadership to all within. The position reports to the UK Managing Director and membership and input into the wider UK management team is a key element of the role.

The Operations Directors' role will be as follows:

To manage the key operational activities within engineering, project management, field service, customer service and order execution
Lead and manage a team of circa 60 Engineers with 5 direct reporting Managers
People development - Recruitment, training, 1:1s, appraisals, performance reviews, and upskilling of the current team
You will be responsible for leading the team who are accountable for contract and project delivery
Manage order execution such as the delivery of plane order stocks, service delivery, service contracts, contract management and spare parts
Contract negotiation including T&Cs and contract management - NEC and IChemE
Ensure all business standards ISO 9001 (quality management system management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational H&S) meet business and customer requirements
Develop and implement strategic plans to improve efficiencies and effectiveness
Budget control on all projects, financial reporting, and strategic planning
Responsible for identifying & driving change needs to meet the evolving needs of the business for growth & profitability enhancement

The ideal Operations Director will have a combination of the following:

Experienced Operations Director, Senior Operations Manager or Project Director within a capital projects delivery business
A business degree or a degree in engineering is preferred
The successful applicant will have a proven history in contracts management related to NEC and/or IChemE
Ideal sectors would be process engineering (P&ID), water, wastewater, O&G, petrochemical, nuclear, marine, commercial construction and rail
Based commutable to Warrington and willing to travel frequently
Results-orientated, customer-focused and excellent leadership skills
