Chief Executive Officer

Would you like the opportunity to become the British Society of Interventional Radiology's first CEO?

Role: Chief Executive Officer

Hours: 2.5 to 3 days per week

Place of work: Remote with office space available in the Royal College of Radiologists, London

Salary: £85,000 per annum (full time equivalent)

The British Society of Interventional radiology (BSIR) is the home of image-guided surgery in the UK. We are a charitable foundation founded to promote and develop the practice of Interventional Radiology.

Recruiting a Chief Executive Officer

We have reached a stage in our development where we feel a change to our structure would allow considerable further growth, the potential is great. Members of BSIR council and BSIR committees rotate in and out of post over several years, which can lead to suboptimal continuity within the organisation, and we have relied on a small number of key members of staff for several years, which exposes us to risk. We now feel the time is right for us to appoint a CEO who can provide a strategic outlook, continuity and oversight of the running of BSIR Ltd.

Our new CEO will have a crucial role in helping us to grow, increasing our profile and membership numbers, increasing our revenue and achieving speciality status such that interventional radiology is considered a speciality in its own right. The role presents an opportunity for an ambitious individual who can bring a significant level of personal gravitas, self-confidence and trust building to take our successful initiative to the next stage.

It may well be that the appointed candidate is someone who has developed their career in another sector and would now relish this opportunity to make a direct impact leading the charity promoting and developing the practice of interventional radiology which has transformed the landscape of patient care.

If you recognise yourself in the job description and person specification and are keen to take up a key role in an enthusiastic organisation wanting to move forward, then we look forward to receiving your application.

How to apply

Please read the candidate information pack for further information prior to sending in your application. Application is by CV and a covering letter which should indicate why you are interested in applying for the role and how you meet the role requirements.

We work hard to ensure that our process is fully inclusive, accessible and reaches a diverse range of potential candidates and want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability, and potential; please contact us on the above email, if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can help with making the application process work for you.

The closing date for applications is Friday 30th September with shortlisting telephone or online interviews taking place the next couple of weeks thereafter. Interviews with BSIR will take place mid-October.
