SYHA is 50 this year. After 27 successful years Tony Stacey, our chief executive, is retiring. We want to recruit an inspirational chief executive to work with our talented leadership team to take SYHA forward as we begin our next 50 years.

We are proud to be the leading housing association serving Sheffield and the City Region. We provide services to over 25,000 people, around half of whom live in our 6,000 homes. The others use our many care and wellbeing services, which make up more than half our £45 million turnover.

SYHA is not your average social housing landlord. We have won many national awards, including Most Innovative Social Housing Organisation and, most recently, Landlord of the Year. Our exceptionally strong culture and values run through everything we do.

You will be joining SYHA at a critical time. Like all Associations we face a turbulent operating context. As our leader you will help shape, influence and continue to improve our financial resilience whilst maintaining our fundamental social purpose.

You will have an excellent track record of being a respected and visionary leader, who makes the very best of the excellent talent they work with. You will demonstrate strong business planning, finance and risk management skills, and be able to challenge and generate new ideas. You will be a role model for our values, which include our passion for inclusivity, and you will be driven to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and communities.

We work in a complex operating environment, so a solid understanding and, ideally experience, of the housing association sector is highly desirable.

We welcome applications from people from all walks of life. SYHA has a strongly positive approach to inclusion - everyone is welcome to apply. Our city centre office provides a wonderful place to work. We have very flexible working arrangements, including hybrid office/working from home. You can download the recruitment pack under the documents section.
