We have an exciting new opportunity for a forward thinking and dynamic Finance Director/ CFO to join a reputable organisation based in London, working 3 days per week after a 6 month period.
  • Your role will be to develop and implement a financial vision and supporting strategies, including treasury, tax, debt, accounting and risk profiling in line with the aspirations of the Trustee Boards and Owners of the company. You will embed these into a ten year Long Term Plan and develop and manage a robust financial framework, including an internal audit programme, to drive financial discipline and awareness across the business including compliance, controls, reporting, budgeting, processes and policies. Ensure that financial targets are met, and be accountable for the Group's compliance with statutory regulations. Oversee the preparation of the financial accounts for the Company, and for the Trustees and Owners ensuring that they are presented accurately and on time.
  • You will develop and manage an effective financial reporting and meeting calendar; deliver timely and accurate financial reporting that enables commercial business decisions. Ensure that financial reporting provides accurate and relevant information at each level of the organisation.
  • Provide sound strategic and financial guidance to Trustee Boards and Owners to ensure that the Group's financial and fiduciary commitments are met. Highlight current and future risks and opportunities, and raise as discussion items at Board meetings as appropriate
  • Part of the role is to build good working relations with trustees, colleagues and other key stakeholders including financial and legal partners/advisors, and other Estates. In particular, ensure that the finance team works in collaboration with other departments to support business goals.

The Finance Director will drive continuous improvement in systems, processes and procedures. Lead the pursuit of being better at all times including adoption of the benefits of automation - act as the champion for the system, ensuring data integrity and effective reporting.

You will oversee the management, co-ordination and instruction of accountants, tax advisors and auditors; ensure correct tender practices are applied and that those we are associated with act in a legal, ethical and professional manner. Undertake report writing to update the Board and the Trustee Board and Owners and seek instructions where necessary. Provide leadership and management and guidance to the finance team to ensure that expectations are set and met by each team member. Ensure a resilient, diverse, agile and efficient team structure, providing value and business continuity.

In return we are looking for a personable and confident strategic Finance Director/ CFO who is able to build positive working relations with a variety of people, and present to audiences in a way that enables sound business decisions. You will operate at a strategic level with a high degree of autonomy; consistently performing to a high standard; able to provide trusted advice, recommendations and insight; contributes and adds value to discussions. You will have strong commercial and financial acumen; able to translate, interrogate and report on data and financials in the context of the business and sector as well as demonstrating practical knowledge of capital structure, tax planning and trust-based organisations.

Previous experience of managing a high performing team; with strong people management skills.

The role will be full time for a period of 6 months then will change to 3 days per week, office and hybrid working.
