My client, one of the world's best performing European based IB's is looking to bring in 2x VP level Java Engineers to work, at the coal face, engaged with Trading and Sales teams on the bank's Real Time Risk and Market Data platforms.

This is low-latency engineering, lots of events based architecture, concurrency and multi-threaded coding, as part of a globalised team spanning NYC, HK, LON and more.

These 2 hires are for motivated hands on Senior Developers to deliver simple and effective code across the Risk Management function for use by the Equity derivatives trading teams. This all means working on the firms critical, enterprise-level Java based risk platform and being a known entity across challenging stakeholders who expect the very best!

The platform is highly engineered and is always being improved, to deliver optimised pre and post-trade pricing, analytics, volatility, visualisation, intra-day charting, risk/stress scenarios, Real Time Pnl, Risk, Explain metrics and regulatory requirements.

Technical requirements;

• Ideally a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
• a significant number of years as a proven Java Developer, with a focus on low latency programming, multi-threading, collections, concurrency and system optimisation
• Linux/Unix and Distributed file system skills
• A history of designing core Java based applications and distributed architectures
• Solid understanding of different Design patterns
• Agile Development experience and strong project assurance skills
• An ability to produce well-tested, documented, high-performance code to tight schedules

Whilst my client is absolutely keen and to meet with talented and proven engineers from outside of Investment Banking/trading, the expectation here is for the very best and screening processes will be robust, entailing a number of technical coding sessions and face-to-face meetings.

2 days per week in office is required.
