Michael Page Logistics are looking to recruit a Transport and Logistics Manager for our client based in the Aylesbury area.
Client Details
Our client is a manufacturer of bulky, industrial products which they distribute across the UK and into Europe.
Description
In the role of Logistics manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Full responsibility for costs across transport and distribution including management of specialist 3PL providers
- Management of the Transport fleet and associated tasks i.e. Operating Licenses to ensure all driver compliances are met.
- Management and setup of warehouses, distribution hubs and distribution networks, where needed, to meet with our customer's delivery expectations at the lowest achievable cost.
- Develop a 'right first -time culture' in the distribution of our products and ensure maximum customer satisfaction through the service provided.
- Manage the lorry drivers for the internal fleet and transport planning team.
- Management all aspects of export and import administration in accordance with and adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Working with your team to help develop systems, structures, training and procedures to enable the delivery of excellence in customer service.
- Knowledge, accuracy and timely completion of all relevant import and export administration and paperwork.
- Ensure you play a full and active part in meeting the site's KPI metrics and targets and help create a climate that relentlessly strives for excellence and continuous improvement.
Profile
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years logistics experience in a similar environment and be supported by a management CPC. You will have an understand of running an in-house transport department and associated activities as well as performance management of delivery partners. You will be involved in some exports and so an understanding of the key points of the legislation on INCOTERMS will be highly advantageous. You will have a strong customer focus and excellent administrative, organisational and time management skills. You will be leading a small team of planners and Transport professionals so people management experience and the ability to manage a wide range of personalities is essential.
