Job Details

Leading the Senior Contracts/Contracts Managers to deliver key customer/contract objectives.

Maintain regular customer contact with key contracts, at all levels, to ensure that Customer needs are fully understood and being met.

Client Details

Established and unique manufacturer with dual capability in design but also overhaul services into the platform builders, operators and other locomotive environments.

Description

The Head of Commercial will:

Provide management input to the Senior Management Team in supporting key operational and strategic decision making; Assisting the Senior Contracts/Contracts Managers to deliver key customer/contract objectives.

Deliver to the Senior Management Team key data and analysis of the profitability, revenue predictions, key issues and quality of service relative to key customers/contracts, recognise and support business opportunities and support bid sign off and ensure delegated authority levels are maintained.

Maintain regular customer contact with key contracts, at all levels, to ensure that Customer needs are fully understood and being met.

Other aspects include:

  • Understand customer expectations and improve operational efficiency within the business.
  • Develop customer and category strategies.
  • Respond to negative market forces, that may require renegotiation of pricing structure within commercial contracts.
  • Present the business capabilities to customers and stakeholders.
  • Resolve contractual and commercial problems.
  • Analyse competitor activity.
  • Support the development and sustainability of key KPI's and periodical reports.
  • Develop the team through coaching and mentoring, identifying training needs and opportunities.

Profile

The Head of Commercial will have:

  • Degree, preferably a Masters in a Commercial/Business discipline.
  • Track record in commercial/contracts role ideally from an industrial/rail/steel/construction background
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing/negotiating skills
  • Advanced Microsoft office knowledge
  • Management and development of people.

Commutable to Doncaster twice a week.
