Description

In the role of General Manager you will provide visionary leadership, strategic thinking, effective cost control and successful management of the teams. Your key metrics will be against labour, productivity, quality control and health and safety whilst delivering exceptional efficiency and service to our customers. You will run the main site in hemel Hempstead as well as overseeing a region of smaller sites across the South East. You will be responsible for Warehouse, Transport, Customr Service and specilaist teams.

Profile

The ideal candidate will meet most of the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a time sensitive environment with multiple sites and managers reporting in
• Proven experience of managing change and initiating improvements, maintaining objectives/KPIs.
• Experience driving for and achieving high standards and able to spot and solve problems proactively.
• Experience of budget management, high commerciality and financially astute
• Experience of managing, motivating and developing colleagues to cultivate a performance culture.
• Ability to spot and develop potential within the team and know how to develop high performing managers to keep them engaged
• Ability to manage challenging conversations around performance and HR related cases to ensure they are dealt with effectively and with credibility, empathy and understanding.
