The primary purpose of the Oracle DBA Role is to provide the organisation with an efficient, functional and stable database environment across multiple platforms

The secondary purpose is to provide support to the business and technology departments in the use of our core systems and database tools and technologies. You will ensure service requests are appropriately actioned according to service level targets.

Description

The Oracle DBA will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Providing DBA Support to all company Databases including:
• Maintaining and enhancing current procedures
• Backup & Recovery of databases
• Maintain procedures to reduce downtime and performance degradation;
• Perform Database performance assessment and optimisation.
• Maintaining and managing Oracle Exadata Database Machine
• Ensure adequate capacity for database and file growth
• Provide recommendations on systems configuration and operational infrastructure as required by management.

Profile

The successful Oracle DBA will be able to demonstrate knowledge and exposure to:

• Previous exposure with supporting large complex 24x7 application environments
• Previous knwledge in Supporting multiple Database Environments
• Sound Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS and SQL problem solving and scripting is essential.
• PL/SQL programming, data analysis and design
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery process knowledge
