THE COMPANY:

As part of the next phase of the organisation’s growth and development, Bury Hospice is looking to identify a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the key leadership position of Director of Finance & Corporate Services. 

  

THE JOB:

Working closely with the Chief Executive, this role will be critical in helping the Hospice realise its vision and take it to the next level. The role will augment, grow, and diversify their income generation streams whilst providing ‘challenge’ to their thinking to make sure they meet their Aims and Values. 

As well as ensuring the organisation is financially and legally secure and meets the requirements of their regulatory bodies you will have overall responsibility for ensuring high quality financial, legal, and operational delivery with a focus on identifying and supporting the development of business cases to enable the Hospice to grow and be financially sustainable. You will actively contribute as a Director and part of the Executive team to the Hospice’s overall strategy and direction and to the effective functioning of the Board, promoting strong partnerships within and outside the Organisation.  

 

THE PERSON:

Acting as a true role model for staff and volunteers by embodying the ethos, values and culture of the organisation and providing highly visible leadership throughout the Hospice this role will also have lead responsibility for other support services functions including Estates & Facilities, Catering & Housekeeping and Human Resources. The successful individual will work in close collaboration with the Chief Executive and Senior Managers to develop strategy, business plans and policies for the Hospice which supports the provision of the highest standards of care for patients and carers.  

This is a broad and varied leadership role in which you will touch and influence every part of the organisation as they look to grow and develop through the next exciting phase of their history. The successful candidates will be a fully qualified finance professional with a genuine desire to play a wider role in the strategic and operational management of an organisation and be comfortable in an environment where challenge and genuine job satisfaction through their purpose are provided in equal measure.
