Description

  • Role is either based in Manchester, Newcastle or Birmingham
  • Take lead position on complex customer accounts, designing and managing build and migration workstreams
  • Lead and consultant team members migrating workloads from traditional NXOS environments to ACI
  • Lead and implement the design and development of network solutions for Data Centre Infrastructure areas.
  • Assists team members in transformation strategy for a network or technology discipline in own area of expertise
  • Participate in work stream planning process, including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of network solutions, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve high severity issues or problems when approached
  • Collaborate with internal or external teams during the problem resolution process as needed.
  • Create and review network schematics, diagrams, and other program documentation to assist with development and preparation of cost estimates, and review vendor proposals.
  • Understand network requirements and provide High Level Design and Low-Level Design.
  • Network Upgrades and Network Migration activities (requirement for out of hours implementation activity)
  • Work directly in customer teams with customer engineers & partners.
  • Should have strong desire to learn the latest technologies & services in the field of data centre networking

Profile

  • Advanced level on Cisco's Datacentre SDN product ACI
  • Assuming background on Nexus Products (N7K, N5k, N2k and more recent 9xxx series)
  • Deep understanding of switching and Routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP, STP, Multicast and more
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, schedule, and execute assignments
  • Deep understanding of switching and associated technologies.
  • Good understanding on non-switching DC components like load balancers, security/FW and host/compute behaviour
  • Strong knowledge of coding inc Python, ansible and terraform to be used for orchestration and automation of compute and switch platforms.
  • Understanding of latest datacentre trends and technologies
  • Strong analytical skills, with strong problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
  • At least 5 years of direct, hands-on experience in Network design and Implementation on Datacentre product lines
