Our client is an international financial trading house and an operating division of a leading global banking organisation. As such they are able to be agile and commercial, benefiting from both their comparatively small size, whilst leveraging the size of their parent company.

Currently they are looking for a Head of Finance to join them on a temp to perm basis, reporting to the COO and advising the CEO and board. Leading the finance team, this role will be responsible for all aspects of the company's finance including financial reporting, management accounting, tax management and regulatory reporting and ensuring the function provides and commercial and business focused service. This will include the following:
  • Oversee all month end and year end processes, including presenting statutory accounts to the board, audit committee and external auditors
  • Manage overall budget and forecasting processes including analysis and reporting
  • Ensuring effective controls and governance in place and maintained to safeguard the company, clients, in line with regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring all financial reporting and governance requirements are met in an accurate and timely manner
  • Lead on tax activities across the firm and ensure compliance and correct governance with HMRC
  • Leadership and development of direct reports and wider finance team
  • Development of appropriate policies and procedures across the department
  • Review and project management of finance IT systems upgrade
  • Wider ad-hoc project work and constant improvement of the finance function

To be the ideal candidate for this position, you should be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with relevant international financial services experience and extensive team leadership experience. The role requires a hands-on pragmatic leader able to balance the demands of delivery together with gravitas and credibility required for strategic advisory up to board level. Knowledge of UK GAAP is required. Strong MS Excel is essential.
