Overview of the IT Director:

Due to the company's continued growth and expansion, we are looking to appoint an IT Director that can lead a small IT team (4) as well as develop a technology strategy to take the group into the future.

The business is on an exciting journey of growth, currently the group has @180 employees. Due to the strong and ambitious growth plans of the business we are looking for a Operational & Strategic IT Director to help shape, grow and strategise its technology to ensure that its fit for purpose and in a world class state, now and for the future.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who has both strong technical knowledge and experience as well as great leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will literally help shape and lead how this business will stay at the forefront of technology in an ever changing and fast paced business environment.

The Group IT Director will report directly to the CFO and group board on all ongoing technology related projects as well as being responsible for the overall technology strategy including all in house and 3rd party providers.

Duties of the IT DirectorThe Role & Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver a coherent IT strategy, build upon current platforms and technology roadmap for continued growth, and enable the company's long term strategic plans by maximising the potential of existing business systems and capitalising on new technology and digital opportunities that add real value, realise significant benefit and keep the business ahead of the competitive curve.

Engage key stakeholders across the business and work closely with the senior management team and with the Executive to inspire IT, process and behavioural change, which will unlock both efficiency's and market potential.

Help drive commercial opportunities and create business value through greater systems integration, data flow & MI visibility, as well as process improvement.

Develop and deliver effective data and business intelligence capability which supports strategic decision making.

Help define and prioritise new phases to the ERP & business systems/application roadmap to deliver a future estate which is seen as an enabler supporting company performance and driving strategic growth.

Leverage change management, project management, and similar disciplines to align key constituents, establish plan, manage initiative execution, and achieve desired results.

Ensure investment in IT is identified and supported by appropriate and robust business cases that captures lifecycle costs, benefits and risk.

Provide proactive business and technology direction in the identification of technology trends and opportunities for innovation that are most relevant to the company's evolving needs.

Own information security, technology risk management and drive compliance with all regulatory requirements including GDPR.

Support and potentially conduct due diligence of potential acquisitions and integrate new acquisitions into the company's current systems and processes.

Manage outsource service delivery relationships with responsibility for all IT contracts and licences, ensuring robust and positive third-party working partnership.

Whats in your DNA?

Previous experience as IT Director or Head of IT managing end to end IT, ideally in a successful scale-up organisation.

Excellent track record of IT Change & Transformation (people, processes and systems), driving business performance and underpinning significant growth and business maturation.

Knowledge of "what good looks like" through exposure to best practice corporate environments balanced with experience gained in smaller entrepreneurial organisations.

Must be able to develop strategic thought leadership, build roadmaps and design blueprints, proactively driving the art of the possible, whilst focused on execution and hands on delivery, rolling sleeves up to get the job done in a lean environment, "flexing muscles" at both ends of the spectrum.

Natural leader, strong relationship builder, collaborator and influencer with the clout and credibility to engage and build trust at Exec level as well as the ability to build effective networks at every level across the organisation.

Innovative and forward looking with ability to challenge the status quo and influence as appropriate to enable change and have a real positive impact on a business.

Self-motivated and ambitious, wants to make a difference in a dynamic environment.

A strong communicator who is able to deliver arguments in a clear and logical manner, synthesizing the detail and able to relay technical data to a non-technical audience.

Managed multiple, high-profile projects from proposal to adoption, and evidence effective prioritisation and benefits realisation.

An excellent range of technical skills gained across a wide range of systems and environments, with the breadth of IT understanding required to deliver in smaller teams.

A high degree of pragmatism, sense of urgency, resourcefulness, flexibility and the ability to get things done.

Evidence of proactively advising on business and technology strategic matters, including identifying market or technology innovation.
