Head of Commercial - Major Projects, Flexible UK & Ireland. Salary range 61,100 - 91,700 + car/allowance + performance-related bonus + benefits
This is an exciting opportunity with a leading distributed energy and private networks business who finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial, public sector, and residential customers - providing them with a market leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset management.
The role
You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the commercial opportunities, governance and contract management practices of company s Major Projects across Behind the Meter, Heat, and Electricity Network Sectors with the aim to develop Energy Systems aligned to their Distributed Energy strategy.
Main responsibilities
Working with stakeholders to develop opportunities, provide the commercial rigour and support, manage commercial risks and opportunities, and ultimately play a key role in wining work whilst ensuring appropriate contractual terms and financial returns are secured.
To develop potential Joint Ventures, Partnerships, Profit Share, Joint Development, and more traditional NEC3/4 Services and Product Agreements, amongst others.
You will lead and manage a team of commercial managers and modellers.
This is a challenging and rewarding role. We are looking for candidates with the commercial acumen, tenacity, and motivation to succeed in the complex and emerging environment of
Distributed Energy solutions.
Part, or all, of your team will likely be remote to you as the company provide services across the UK, therefore some travel is required within the UK.
Essential requirements
A qualification in a relevant field e.g. Economics, Procurement, Law, Finance, Quantity Surveying, etc. but relevant experience in the formulation and negotiation of major energy projects is equally important.
Working experience and knowledge of standard construction and asset deployment industries forms of contract e.g. JCT, NEC etc.
Ability to review and understand complex models that are required as part of the financials for major energy schemes.
A background in putting together bespoke energy propositions and agreements would be also be a significant advantage.
A good knowledge and understanding of the Distributed Energy market and more specifically the power and energy industry is key.
A track record of negotiating and executing complex high value contracts.
Experience of identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
Post contract award dispute resolution experience.
An understanding of the Power and wider Utilities Market would be advantageous.
