The AMS team supervises the audit market, focusing on the largest firms, in the following areas:
The AMS Director is seeking to appoint a Project Director to lead projects relating to culture and perform ongoing assessment of culture at the annually inspected audit firms in line with our supervision approach. To input into strategic decisions on the culture assessment techniques we deploy as we further enhance our supervision of culture at audit firms.
The role is based in our Central London Office. The post holder should be able to work flexibly to support the team's activities and also provide cover within the organisation as necessary. This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement. The guidance is to work from an office for at least four days each fortnight with precise arrangements to be agreed between the employee and the line manager.

- Evidence on audit quality.

Responsibilities
- Project management of the tranches of work responsible for (usually over several months).
- Performing ongoing culture assessment (e.g. analysing information received from the audit firms and performing independent assessment through the use of surveys).
- Providing insight on the attributes of a healthy culture.
- Identifying key findings from the projects and presenting effectively (both in writing and orally) to the firms to achieve change;
- Developing the skill sets of the project associates working on the projects and performing an effective review of their work.
- Engaging with senior leadership of the largest audit firms at regular meetings.
- Commitment to improving audit quality through a focus on auditor behaviour and mindset.
Skills required
- Strong technical knowledge in the following areas:
o how corporate or professional services firms consider cultural and behavioural matters
o how the largest accountancy firms are structured and manage their businesses
o the UK regulatory environment
- Ability to assimilate complex information and identify themes
- Ability to learn quickly about new topics and develop expertise
- Ability to create, interact and maintain key external relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to work as part of a team and deliver to tight deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including drafting action plans and public reports.
- Strong project and time management skills to complete work within the timetable set. Able to make sound recommendations to firms
