Head of Platform / DevOps | People and Strategy Manager | FTSE 250 Co.

This is a huge opportunity for you to join a FTSE 250 company as their Head of Platform. You will provide the strategy, direction and vision for the specialist platform team, whilst attending exec and board meetings to discuss the direction and objectives of the business.

You will have four direct reports that are tech leads who look after platform architecture, engineering, product and delivery. You will be continuously collaborating on the strategy and direction of the business. The total platform team you will be managing is 16 strong and the company employs circa 750 people across two geographical locations.

This is a modern DevOps environment in which the infrastructure has already been constructed (the team's largely autonomous), it will be your role to inform them of the strategy and direction of the business.

Although this role is not hands-on, it is important that you are technically switched on and have the capability to learn new technology when required.

The projects carried out by this team are large-scale and cutting edge: creating new products and working on acquisitions, migrations, and innovations. This is a hybrid role, and you will be working twice a week either from the officein London or in Manchester.

Essential:

• Experience managing leads
• Background in DevOps / SRE / Development
• Excellent communication skills

Desirable:

• Ability to implement objectives of business into technical direction
• Experience working in the higher structure of a company

Whilst this is a strategic and personnel management position it will be expected that you have come from a previous, DevOps/SRE/Platform management, or engineering role
