Nylacast Engineered Products is a Private Equity-backed, UK-headquartered, fast-growth, global, engineered solutions manufacturer and distributor. The business has a strong plan for growth, both organically and as a result of acquisition.

It manufactures and supplies engineered products within multiple applications and markets. The business, with sites in central and East Midlands, has long-standing relationships with its customers and a very low level of churn.

REQUIREMENT FOR A GROUP OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Following the appointment of a CEO for the Engineered Products business we are seeking to appoint a driven, energetic and experienced leader, with a proven track record of running multiple manufacturing sites to lead Operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong Operations Director to be part of an ambitious management team in a global business unit that is highly profitable and with strong growth potential.

The candidate must have excellent leadership and communication skills, and be able to bring together operations historically based in different companies. Highly experienced in engineering based manufacturing, able to manage multi-site operations and to drive world class operational performance.

You will be joining a strong and experienced management team, with the opportunity to make a real impact in this rapidly growing business.

Working with the CEO and peers in the BU Management Team, the Group Operations Director will initially be responsible for:

  • Delivering, and where possible exceeding the annual financial targets for each production facility;
  • Contribute towards the Strategic Plan for each production facility to ensure growth in line with business objectives; Leading Change and Integrating Best Practice; Enhancing key customer experience; Leading, motivating, retaining and attracting the best-in-class team.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • 10+ years experience of leading cross functional teams within a manufacturing environment at Operations Director level;
  • Ability to develop relationships and influence multiple situations and stakeholders simultaneously;
  • Natural leadership, able to motivate and inspire others to achieve targets whilst recognising when a more hands-on approach is required and teams need to be built or strengthened;
  • Experienced / knowledge in Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, 6S;
  • Professional qualification in relevant engineering discipline either mechanical or manufacturing at degree level of equivalent.
