The client is looking for a highly experienced CTO to join their highly performing team. On top of the generous salary there is a bonus and the opportunity to obtain equity for the right individual.

Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
  • Develop, own and clearly communicate the technology vision for the company, ensuring the strategy supports the changing priorities of the business
  • Build, run and scale a best-in-class engineering team to deliver our ambitious product roadmap
  • Ownership of all technical product delivery:
    • Creation of estimates and schedules for product roadmap delivery
    • Delivery of new product enhancements to agreed timelines
    • Delivery of product defect fixes
    • Early product innovation and discussions to support sales opportunities
    • Quality assurance of product releases
    • Ensure platform meets security best practices and relevant regulatory requirements
    • Ensure great user experience and usability of products
    • Manage overall platform, product versioning and release cycle
  • Manage team structure, growth, utilisation, key person dependencies and budgets
  • Lead, mentor and empower team members to achieve their best
  • Lead key technical design decisions and advise when to buy in technology for undifferentiated work
  • Determine and track KPIs on a regular basis and present reports
  • Create a solid network of strategic partnerships with key technology suppliers
  • Stay up to date with latest technology innovations in the insurance and related industries
  • Stay up to date with the latest best practices

Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Chief Technology Officer or similar role
  • Demonstrable experience in running, growing and motivating an engineering capability in a rapid growing company
  • Deep technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies covering SaaS, user interfaces, security, APIs, integration, infrastructure, and data analytics
  • Knowledge of best practice to drive efficiencies in development through team structure, processes, technical design and automation
  • Experience working in a product organisation with a highly configurable product that seamlessly fits in with customer processes
  • Experience developing product configuration tools that can be used by implementation partners and customers
  • Knowledge or willingness to build strong expertise in the insurance industry
  • Proven leader of engineering teams with more than 50 people
  • Significant previous background in hands-on programming
  • Commercially minded with a strong eye on growth
  • Highly organised and able to juggle different projects
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Data-driven and structured approach to work
  • Previous experience in a start-up/scaleup is desirable
