Location: you can be based in Leeds, Bristol, Manchester, Halifax, Edinburgh or London

Salary & Benefits: £116,272 - £174,408 if based in London. The range outside of London is £100,352 - £150,000. Plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

The Role

Our Cloud Platform team is looking for a Head of Cloud Management Services. You will define, build, and run products, tools and services that enable developers and engineers to manage and consume cloud services and r You will define the end to end consumer experience, including the developer device, and create the interfaces (cli, console, APIs) that enable developers to provision and consume cloud environments and resources on demand, under a set of modern engineered guardrails. You will work transversally across multiple vertical cloud services product areas providing both frameworks to publish and enabling the consumption of their services and orchestrate the execution of the core functionally needed across other transversal teams, security, devices and infrastructure needed to provide the desired developer experience.

You'll role model our values & behaviours and shape, coach and lead a team of Technical Product Managers and Cloud Engineers together aligning our Platform agenda with the Group's Strategy.

What you'll get involved with
  • Define and deliver a set of developer and engineer user stories data and application migration capabilities across multiple clouds and from multiple infrastructures
  • Define, build and run a set of products and capabilities that enable the desired user experience
  • Orchestrate the execution of a program of work across core platform capabilities to enable the user experience
  • Provide the framework to other cloud products verticals to enable the consumption of their services
  • Leading and managing an organization of platform product teams ensuring relevant training and upskilling plans are in place
  • Running and operating the products delivered (DevOps)
  • Supporting and enabling both value streams and platforms, in conjunction with the Cloud Service Adoption team

What's needed to be considered for this job?
  • A broad understanding of Cloud Platforms and Technologies: GCP, Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud at Customer, VMware, RedHat Openshift, IBM Bluemix
  • Experience in building consoles, command line interfaces and applications for developers
  • Experience in building provisioning systems, catalogues and inventories
  • Experience in defining Developer Experience user Journeys
  • Experience in managing a multi organisation program of work across key areas, like security, infrastructure and workplace
  • Experience in building and managing platforms in an Enterprise environment
  • Be product focused with the ability to define technical products, roadmaps, user journeys and APIs
  • Ability to define and review technical architectures
  • A deep understanding about how to manage application and data migrations utilising enterprise grade controls
  • Good knowledge of distributed systems and architectures
  • Good knowledge of networking protocols
  • An understanding of the internals of the cloud platforms and services
  • Good knowledge of security protocols and access management
  • Good knowledge of hardware and network virtualization technologies
  • Good understanding of different database technologies
  • Ability to be hands on and create prototypes and MVP of the different platform products
  • Experience in working with CI/CD, DevOps approaches and a passion for automation
  • Experience in Azure DevOps and GitHub actions is a plus
  • Experience in delivering infrastructure as code-based solutions based on known languages (terraform, pulumi, ansible).
