As a Head of PMO you'll play a vital role in establishing and managing the Strategic PMO for the Corporate Development Directorate and wider Council including the development of an Agile PMO approach.

About the role

Based in Waltham Forest you will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives including:
  • Developing and overseeing a Corporate Development Pipeline, identifying opportunities to develop a holistic approach to designing change within the Council
  • Developing and overseeing a joint approach to resource planning and management for change within Corporate Development
  • Identifying, monitoring and managing strategic dependencies between our key programmes of work
  • Supporting the AD of Change Agency with the implementation and delivery of portfolio management within the Council

About you
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
  • Experience of managing portfolios at strategic level.
  • Experience of setting up and managing successful Portfolio Management Offices (PMOs).
  • Experience of detailed resource management and success in implementing new resourcing approaches.
  • Experience of managing a mixed and varied workload of conflicting priorities responding effectively to the needs of all customers.

Also Desired:
  • Experience of report writing and communications for a variety of audiences, demonstrating numeracy and literacy, and applying expert knowledge.
  • Experience in dealing with a range of complex and contentious matters requiring a consistently high degree of support, persuasion and advocacy and an awareness of major policy objectives.
  • Knowledge and experience of best practice project management methodologies and techniques to provide sound advice and support to Project Managers and Sponsors.
  • Possess in depth understanding of Agile, its values and principles, including backlog grooming, release and sprint planning, burn-up/down charts, and more.

What's on offer
  • Salary: £500-£600+ per day, Inside IR35
