Job Title: Head of Operational Resilience
Location: Home Based
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: GBP100k-GBP120K

Our midlands based client are looking for an experienced operational resilience leader to be the primary point of contact across the Group to define, deliver and embed their resilience strategy in line with regulatory expectations. This will support their ability to detect, prevent, respond to, recover and learn from operational disruptions that may impact the delivery of important business services.

KEY RESULT AREAS or ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Define and implement the operational resilience strategy & policy to ensure compliance with regulations and ensure customer maintains the service they expect.
  • Identify & map the important business services where a disruption to the provision of the service could cause intolerable harm to our customers; the market; or financial stability.
  • Assessment of the identified important business services undertaken, including the setting of impact tolerances, the maximum tolerable level of disruption to that service, including the maximum tolerable duration of any disruption.
  • Lead the ongoing development of plausible scenarios of realistic events that could disrupt the delivery of the important business services. These scenarios are used to stress test our set impact tolerances to identify weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and identify any associated mitigating actions.
  • Drive the ongoing resilience governance with testing to continually stress our important business services to ensure that we can keep within our set impact tolerances in situations.
  • Own the Board self-assessment document to assure our own compliance and provide the basis to take necessary action to address weaknesses in resilience and to provide the necessary information to the Executive & Board.
  • Preparing and delivering training for senior colleagues on operational resilience regulations and responsibilities.
  • Provide oversight of business continuity planning and testing, working closely with operational teams to develop thorough testing plans.
  • Keep up to date with trends, regulation, innovations and new technology that can positively impact the resilience of our customers and the business.
  • Provide first class communications with peers and the wider business to ensure engagement, support and delivery of required resilience outcomes.

To be successful you must have:

  • You will either be leading Operational Resilience in a small/medium business or be a senior member of the Operational Resilience Team in a larger bank.
  • You must have a Financial Services background.
  • Experience working in a similar role within Operational Resilience and Business Continuity.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering Board presentations.
  • Knowledge of operational resilience and the latest regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in supporting stakeholders to design and test business continuity plans.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail.
