Michael Page Logistics are looking to recruit an Assistant General Manager to be based at one of our client DC's in Hemel Hempstead.

Our client are a well know leader in contract logistics and food distribution.

Description

You will be responsible for day to day operations of a 24/7, multi temperature site that is technology-driven. You will manage warehouse and transportation teams as well as some other specialist areas of the site. You will drive operational excellence at the DC, keeping customers and people at the centre of all business decisions. Your responsibilities will be split across the following core areas and you will need to be able to demonstrate a track record within each:

• People
• Compliance and Health & Safety
• Customer
• Commercial
• Operational Excellence

Profile

The ideal candidate will have managed at a similar level within a multi temperature, food distribution environment. Alternatively you will have great experience within contract logistics and have experience closely managing customers and their expectations. Candidates will need to demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen and have had exposure to budgets and P&L. Experience managing within a unionized environment would be helpful.
