Job Details
Project Delivery director for a leading 3rd party logistics provider. Taking responsibility for the successful start up of large scale contract start ups. This is a multi faceted role managing both the customer expectations and the successful delivery of project and programmes. The role will act as project director and account director until the operation in ready to be handed over to BAU.

This is a new position working for a prestigious 3rd party logistics provider with some of the biggest brands in the world as current customers. Over the last few years they have continued to provide innovative solutions to customers needs and secured numerous new pieces of business.
Description
The Project delivery director is a new position that will work as a key interface between solutions design, project management, operations and the customer.
Once a contract has been successfully tendered the Project delivery director will take full responsibility for the delivery of the contract from concept to realisation. Leading a multi-disciplined team of project managers, solutions designers and later operational management team the Project delivery director will ensure that the start up is delivered on time to specification and within budget before handing the site/sites over to the business unit once BAU is achieved.
Projects may include
- New site builds / refurbishment on existing sites
- WMS / Systems integration
- Installation of automation (with the assistance of an integrator)
- TUPE / Hiring / training of new teams
- Business Transformation
Profile
The successful candidate for the Project delivery director position could have a varied background in contract logistics having exposure to project and programme management but also operational leadership as an account director, operations director or regional general manager. Leadership of new contract start ups is advantageous.
Experience and qualifications:
- Educated to degree level, including logistics industry related qualifications
- Experience in Project management techniques/ methodologies (Prince2, MSP, PMP, PMQ/APM etc)
- P&L management
- Account management / leadership experience.
- 3rd Party Logistics experience is advantageous
