The FCA ensures that financial markets work well for individuals, for businesses and for the economy as a whole. The FCA has core objectives to protect consumers, protect and enhance the market integrity of the UK financial system and promote competition.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important leadership role in a team driving evidence-based policy and regulation in financial services. As Deputy Chief Economist, you will be leading high performing, multi-disciplinary analytical teams with backgrounds in economics, financial analysis and economics, behavioural economics, data science to deliver high quality analysis. A member of the economics leadership team, you will work with colleagues to support Exco, the Board and senior decision makers on all aspects of the FCA’s work, providing analysis to inform key policy, regulatory and strategic decisions.
The FCA is looking for an experienced economist from government, a regulator, consulting, or the broader private sector. They will bring:
- Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of developing and motivating high performing analytical teams through change
- Strategic capability, with experience of balancing complex projects to arrive at successful outcomes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels, internally and externally
