Head of IT/Infrastructure Operations

Length of contract: Initial 6-12 months (Outside IR35)

Location: You can work fully remote, or a hybrid out of any of their 20+ UK locations

Company: Large group with 3000+ end users

Outline of position

Take leadership of the groups Technology Infrastructure & Operations Management. You will be maintaining a function consisting of managing the Service Desk, IT Service Management, Field Services, Infrastructure Operations and Application Support teams supporting approx. 6000 infrastructure devices and around 3000 end users. The role involves managing approx. 45 resources of different levels in a very technically complex and demanding environment. Management & support of 150+ services from desktop to server to data centre and applications.

Key responsibilities

• Management of a 25 strong local engineer function supporting 3000+ staff at 30 locations throughout the UK
• Management of 15 strong Infrastructure Operations function supporting Wintel, Unix, Storage, Data Centres, Networks and Mainframe technologies
• Management of outsourced Service Desk and Internal Service Management function consisting of around 10 internal resources
• Implementation of governance and assurance processes and control mechanisms
• Resource tracking and planning for all in scope services to cover delivering BAU, Technical Assurance and Project activities
• Re-organising delivery teams to maximise cost efficiencies across disparate functions
• Developing and delivering improved performance measures and outcomes

Ideally you will come from a highly technical background, plus have large IT Transformation experience within enterprise level organisations.
